As part of the implementation of the TOVI DAGBE FO DIDE 2 project, “BON CITOYEN 2”, SOS CIVISME BENIN, proceeded on this day, March 15, 2022, in the commune of Bantè, to the reinforcement of capacities of young people on *redevrability and interpellation techniques*. This training workshop which ends on March 16, 2022, knows the participation of 20 young people (men, women and disabled people), nationals of the commune of Bantè and belonging to grassroots organizations. The objective is to << *tool the youth in the logic of making them capable of interacting effectively in the implementation of the project and to be able to play the role of citizen watch in the sectors of education and civil status*
During the workshop, the mayor of the commune of Bantè, Mr. Comlan FAGBEMON, who was present at the workshop, welcomed the initiative and sincerely thanked the Swiss Cooperation and the GFA Consulting Group for their financial and technical support before assuring the project team of his full availability and that of all the communal authorities to enable the project to achieve tangible results. While recalling the importance of the topics discussed during this workshop, Mr. FAGBEMON invited the participants to discipline and to listen carefully, because, he said, <<it is about their personal development as citizens and that of their commune>>.
Furthermore, the private secretary of the Mayor of Bantè, Mr Armel NONVIGNON, also took part in the workshop.

For a quality citizen’s watch, it is necessary to equip the Associations of Users of Public Services (AUSPu) on the techniques of interpellation, analysis and monitoring of public policies… This is what SOS Civisme Benin in the Commune of Bantè has done by equipping 15 AUSPu of the sectors of education and civil status within the framework of the Good Citizen 2 Project that it implements with the technical and financial support of the Swiss Cooperation in Benin and of GFA Consulting Group. After two days of sharing experiences and learning, the beneficiaries said they were very satisfied. They thanked the Swiss Cooperation and GFA Consulting Group for supporting this initiative of SOS Civisme Benin. 

As in Bantè, the AUSPu of the Commune of Allada had the right to capacity building on accountability, the AFDH, the techniques of interpellation and the analysis and monitoring of public policies. Very satisfied with these two days of training, a participant gave her impressions: “We knew what to do, but not how to do it, this training came at the right time for us, because it allowed us to have the tools we need to do our work of defending the rights of users”. She continues: “We would like to see initiatives like this repeated more often”. 

The Communal Section of SOS CIVISME BENIN flies to the aid of the schoolchildren of Bohicon

To allow school children to have access to shade and fruits (guarantee of a healthy life for a better education) during their recreational moments, such is the vision which underlies the descent of the members of the Communal section of Bohicon (SOS CIVISME BENIN) this Monday, June 27, 2022 in the Epp Sogba. Led by its current President Samson KPEHOUNKPE, the communal team of SOS CIVISME BENIN has endowed this school with 30 seedlings including 13 ecaritus, 13 Melinas and 4 grafts. A gesture that makes happy both the beneficiary students and the administration and local authorities. This is the moment for us to say thank you to the national coordination of SOS CIVISME BENIN, the Chief of the District (CQ) of Sogba and the school management for their promise of commitment alongside the Communal Section for development actions.

The youth of the Commune of Bantè were again in the spotlight this Saturday, July 30, 2022. It was in the VIP conference room of the Bantè Town Hall that the training session of young investigators in the framework of the citizen evaluation of the quality of civil status services took place. Indeed, to contribute to the improvement of the quality of basic services provided by the competent authorities in the Commune of Bantè, SOS Civisme Benin through the Good Citizen 2 project, wants to create a space for dialogue and exchange between the youth of the Commune and the authorities so that endogenous solutions can be found to the problems experienced by the populations.  That is why, in partnership with the Swiss Cooperation and GFA Consulting Group, it has initiated the citizen evaluation activity in the commune of Bantè. Before going into the field to collect data, the young investigators were trained in data collection techniques and tools. 

Very impressed by the involvement of his Commune in this project but also by the initiative of the day, a participant said: “Your actions participate in the development of the Commune of Bantè and strengthen the citizen participation of the young people that we are”.
